Holiday Parties/Brownie Platters/Tray 'o' Cupcakes

Shop 'N' Mingle turned out to be a great success in spite of the rain. I had a good time promoting the brand and handing out samples of Hot Cocoa brownies, Pumpkin Spice Muffins, and Cardamom-Pear Muffins  to hungry shoppers.

The sweet treats were a perfect match with the espresso offered at the Cafe Bustelo booth.

A full gallery of pictures and video can be viewed here, just in case you missed the event (for shame!).

Since then we've been kept pretty busy baking for all sorts holiday parties and gatherings.

Shop 'n' Mingle 2009

When TCM set up shop at the Afro-Punk festival we were neighbors with a clothing brand that I really love and admire. Ngozi of Harriet's Alter Ego started her business in 1999 at street festivals around the city where she got a chance to see what customers wanted firsthand (sound familiar?). She has managed to meet that demand and then some, growing to 2 stores and an online following numbering in the thousands. Like they say on the site:

"Counting clients like India. Arie, Talib Kweli, M.I.A, Mos Def, BET and Yerba Buena, may be good for some, but for the owners of Harriet’sAlter Ego, the support of everyday people is proof positive that what they do…well, works."

A company after my own heart, indeed.

That's why when Ngozi contacted me to be a part of Shop 'n' Mingle 2009 I readily agreed.

Not only can you shop at the booths of 16 different designers but there will also be tons of giveaways including haircuts, makeovers, foot massages, swag bags, even an espresso bar.

Oh, did I mention that we'll be there too?

It's true, because for an event this hot only a spicy Hot Cocoa Brownie from The Chocolate Muffin will do.

Here's the info:

Giving Thanks

We folks at The Chocolate Muffin have a lot to be thankful for.

I, personally, am very grateful for the outpouring of love and support

that I have received over these 6 months since the bakery has been launched.

It has been an action-packed adventure so far, one that I am glad you have consented to share with me.

Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your prayers.

Each time you visited us at the farmer's market, wrote a testimonial on ETSY,

ordered cupcakes for your grandson,

or even just looked at this site, inspired me and invokes a feeling of deep gratitude.

Thank you!

The Brooklyn Flea (finally)

I love Brooklyn. I love Brooklyn as much as I love cake, and that's a lotta love. The Chocolate Muffin tent has been set up all over the city and this weekend I am excited to bring it back home to one of the most Brooklyn events in, well, Brooklyn!

This weekend is your last chance to check out the outdoor Flea before is shuts down for the season. The Chocolate Muffin will be there in full force with the (NewNew} ETSY Street Team. (For more info on the {NEWNEW} click here)

At the Flea you can munch on some old-fashioned (yet vegan!) treats while walking through the great collections of antique furniture and vintage clothing. At The Chocolate Muffin tent, along with cupcakes and cookies galore, we will also be featuring our new dessert gift boxes, just in time for the upcoming holidays.

Hope to see you there!

Get Your Fix, pt 2.

You can also now find more of our products at Linger Cafe and Lounge, on Atlantic Avenue between 3rd and 4th Avenue, in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.

It is a beautiful new space and the owner, Jessica Pichardo, is devoted to bringing Brooklyn healthy, local, sustainable food in a beautiful, sexy setting and somehow strikes a fine balance between the two. Linger Cafe is definitely not your run-of-the-mill, crunchy granola health food cafe, just as The Chocolate Muffin is also not your run-of-the-mill crunchy granola vegan bakery. Maybe that's why the two work so well together....

Anyway, check out their cool postcard and the cafe! You won't be disappointed.

You can see more pics, the menu, and also a list of their vendors (including yours truly!) at http://www.lingercafelounge.com
